The Deauville American Film Festival has unveiled the lineup of films screening at the upcoming 2026 edition, including numerous French premieres for some the yearâs buzziest movies.
Among the titles set to land at the festival in the French seaside town are Florian Zellerâs âBunker,â fresh from its world premiere in Venice, plus âButterfly Jamâ from Kantemir Balaov, Andy Garciaâs âDiamond,â Nicolas Winding Refnâs latest feature âHer Private Hell,â Olivia Wildeâs âThe Invitation,â which recently released in the U.S. to acclaim, âMother Maryâ from David Lowery, Jane Schoenbrunâs âTeenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasmaâ and Ira Sachs âThe Man I Love.â
Meanwhile, the festival competition packs a decent punch. The 13-strong lineup includes Jordan Firstmanâs Cannes breakout âClub Kid,â Casey Affleckâs Venice-bowing âCompanyâ and Berlinale winner âEverybody Digs Bill Evans.â
Other films competing are âA Prayer for the Dying,â âHere Iâm Alive,â âIâll be Gone in June,â âIf I Go Will They Miss me,â âMixed Block,â âMouse,â âParty USA,â âQueen at Sea,â âTestâ and âThe Liberation of Rita Cooper.â
Away from the films on screen, Deauville has amassed an enviable array of stars, veterans and newcomers, who will collect its various honors.
Brendan Fraser, star of âControlâ and an Oscar winner in 2024 for âThe Whale,â will receive the Deauville Talent Award, as will five-time Oscar nominee Ethan Hawke. Icon Awards will go to Faye Dunaway and Susan Surandon, while âHereticâ breakout Sophie Thatcher and âThe White Lotusâ star Patrick Schwarzenegger will both receive Rising Star awards.
The 2026 Deauville American Film Festival will run Sep 4-13.
