Wonder Project’s Tristen Tuckfield is joining UTA’s Independent Film Group as an agent, and will focus on packaging, financing and sales strategies for indie feature and TV projects.

At Wonder Project, Tuckfield served as Chief Commercial Officer and Head of Content Acquisition, overseeing the company’s content strategy for its premium streaming service on Amazon Prime Video across originals, acquisitions, unscripted, and licensed titles. Tuckfield helped launch the platform with House of David Season 2, and spearheaded a Wonder Original’s film strategy of one to three originals per month including acquisition titles A Great Awakening and Rebuilding, as well as Wonder Studio originals Sarah’s Oil and Young Washington. Additionally, she commissioned unscripted programs, the company’s first children’s series, and oversaw strategic partnerships with studios and producers across the industry.Prior to Wonder Project, Tuckfield served as EVP of Feature Films at Village Roadshow Pictures, where she oversaw development strategy across a slate of more than 40 films, packaging and producing projects for partners including Apple, MGM, Hulu, Roku and Tubi. Before that, she was a founding executive at 30WEST, where she helped build the company’s film investment, financing and sales business. While there she executive produced, packaged, and sold Tiger King to Netflix, and contributed across the life cycle of acclaimed films such as I, Tonya, Flee, Beast, Late Night, Destroyer, Killers of the Flower Moon, and The Last Vermeer.Earlier in her career, Tuckfield held senior acquisitions roles at Millennium Entertainment and Samuel Goldwyn Films before joining Creative Artists Agency’s Media Finance Group. “Tristen has spent nearly two decades building films from every angle, as an acquisitions executive, financier, producer, distributor, and studio executive,” said Partner and Head of UTA’s Independent Film Group, Rena Ronson. “She brings an exceptional understanding of the independent marketplace, deep relationships across the industry, and a proven ability to identify commercial opportunities while championing bold creative voices. We’re thrilled to welcome her to the team.”Tuckfield joins UTA’s Independent Film Group amid a standout year for the division, with The Invite selling to A24 for $10M+ following a marathon bidding war out of Sundance, and Jordan Firstman’s directorial debut, Club Kid, emerging as the biggest sale of the Cannes Film Festival for a reported $17M. The group has also recently worked on acclaimed films including Wicker (Alex Huston Fischer & Eleanor Wilson), Hope (Na Hong-jin), Tangles (Leah Nelson), Tuner (Daniel Roher), East of Wall (Kate Beecroft), Longlegs (Osgood Perkins), and many more. Heading into the fall festival season, the group has Prima Facie, starring Cynthia Erivo; Lili Horvát’s My Notes on Mars, starring Mackenzie Davis and Rupert Friend; Girl Group, written, directed, and starring Rebel Wilson; Magazine, starring Lily McInerny and Jake Lacy; as well as the documentaries Musk, from Alex Gibney, and Rapinoe, from Rebeca Huntt.
