The Devil Wears Prada 2 will land on Disney+ and Hulu on July 29, Disney’s 20th Century Studios has announced.

A few weeks before the streaming premiere, on June 28, the film will hit 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray and also become available on digital platforms including Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV and Fandango at Home. A DVD-digital bundle of the 2006 original and this year’s sequel, with extra features, will arrive on June 30.

The franchise passed the $1 billion mark at the global box office last week, putting an exclamation mark on the sequel’s surprisingly strong theatrical run. The followup, which has collected more than $676 million worldwide, brought back key cast members from the first installment, including Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci.

Four featurettes are included with the DVD-digital bundle, all featuring interviews with cast and crew. The sequel was directed by David Frankel, written by Aline Brosh McKenna, produced by Wendy Finerman, and executive produced by Michael Bederman, Karen Rosenfelt, and Aline Brosh McKenna.

The featurettes include Level Up: Updating the Icons, in which cast, crew, and others look back on the first film and note how the characters and their wardrobes have evolved for the sequel; Inside the Fashion Closet, with cast, filmmakers, and lead costume designer Molly Rogers talking about dressing the lead characters; and Front-Row Access, a look at the shoot in Italy, including during Milan’s fashion week.

Also part of the DVD-digital bundle are the music video for “Runway,” featuring Lady Gaga and Doechii, a gag reel and an audio commentary by Frankel, Brosh McKenna and Rogers.

While physical disc sales are continuing to decline, the Devil 2 release is fitting given that the original film’s popularity on DVD along with other ancillaries helped justify making a sequel two decades after two decades. Industry sources have estimated the original racked up tens of millions in DVD revenue alone.
