Elle has landed on Prime Video, but will the Legally Blonde prequel return for a second season? Find out below.
Created by Laura Kittrell, the show stars Lexi Minetree as a teenage Elle Woods, the character made famous by Reese Witherspoon in the original Legally Blonde films.
Set in 1995, the series follows Elle during her high school years, long before she heads to Harvard Law School, as her life is upended when she moves from Bel-Air to Seattle.
The cast also includes June Diane Raphael as Elle’s mother Eva, Tom Everett Scott as her father Wyatt, Jacob Moskovitz as Miles, Gabrielle Policano as Liz, Chandler Kinney as Kimberly, Zac Looker as Dustin and Amy Pietz as Donna.
Witherspoon serves as an executive producer on the show, which arrived on Prime Video on July 1. All eight episodes of the first season are available to stream now.

In a four-star review of the show, NME wrote: “In Elle’s world, anybody can be won over with the power of optimism, a wisecrack and a shared love of Chanel. Simpler times? Certainly. There are no hotshot lawyers here, but it’s still an arresting watch.”
Will there be an Elle season two?
Yes. Elle has already been renewed for a second season.
Prime Video confirmed the renewal in January, several months before the first season premiered. The streamer announced at the time that season one would arrive on July 1, while also confirming that production on the second season would begin in spring.
A release date for season two has not been announced yet, but recent reports have suggested that filming has now wrapped, meaning the new episodes could potentially arrive in 2027.
One new cast member has already been confirmed too, with Never Have I Ever star Maitreyi Ramakrishnan joining season two as Sam.
According to Deadline, Sam is set to be a foil for Elle, possessing “all our hero’s ambition and none of her optimism”. She is also described as the founder and editor-in-chief of the school newspaper, as well as “the commissioner of the grammar police”.
Season two is also expected to pick up directly after the events of the first season.
“We pick up in Season 2 right after Season 1 ends,” Kittrell has said. “So the cliffhangers that we’ve left you with in Season 1, you will not have to wait long to see how those are going to be resolved.”
