Jake T Austin has revealed that he’s “disappointed” not to be part of Wizards Beyond Waverly Place.

The 31-year-old former Wizards of Waverly Place star opened up about his absence in an Instagram story on Thursday (August 6), after the four-part third and final season debuted on Disney+ the day before.

“To all the Wizards fans, just wanted to say for the record how disappointed I am to have not been included in the spinoff,” he shared in a note on his story.

“I was asked back in 2020 if I was interested in reprising my role and said that I was 100% in,” Jake continued. “Unfortunately, the powers that be decided to take the show in a different direction and my character wasn’t part of the equation.”

“Even though I wasn’t involved, I still have nothing but love for my former castmates and wish them continued success,” he concluded. “Thank you to all the fans who watched over the years. The show wouldn’t be what it is without your endless support.”

Jake‘s comments come after his former TV dad, David DeLuise, shaded the Disney sequel series’ finale for not included all of the OGs.

Jake and David D were the only two who were not in the four-part finale, while David Henrie, Selena Gomez, and Maria Canals-Barrera all reprised their roles, along with Jennifer Stone and Gregg Sulkin.

Despite previously saying he was “looking forward” to reuniting with his co-stars, Jake never appeared on the reboot, but David DeLuise did two episodes in the first season.

Last fall, David H commented on the possibility of Jake reprising his role.
