EXCLUSIVE: Scott Foley (It’s Not Like That) is among newly announced additions to August, a recently-wrapped comedy marking the feature directorial, screenwriting and acting debut of Nick Borenstein, on which we first reported earlier this month.

Also a co-executive producer on the project, Foley’s fellow new hires include James Olivas (American Horror Story), Brittany Bradford (Julia), Kate Micucci (Big Bang Theory) and Dierdre Friel (Loot). Dan Bucatinsky, Lauren Graham and Patti LuPone lead the cast opposite Borenstein, as previously announced.

Shot in New York City, August follows a young, gay New Yorker (Borenstein) who, after the sudden death of his beloved therapist (Graham), spirals into an obsessive investigation as he becomes convinced her death was not accidental.

Borenstein and Bucatinsky produced the film alongside Lindsay Blair Goeldner (I Like Movies, Campeón Gabacho). Exec producers include LuPone, Graham, Stan Ponte, Betsy and Steve Filton, Asori Soto, Andrew and Matthew Leventhal and Sydney Foos. Saskia d’Altena served as co-producer.

Most recently seen starring in series such as It’s Not Like That and Will Trent, with additional roles in the films Scream 7 and La Dolce Villa, Foley is repped by Gersh, Atlas Management and Sloan, Offer, Weber & Dern.

Olivas is repped by Innovative Artists, Thruline and Granderson Des Rochers; Bradford by Paradigm, Artists First and Goodman, Genow, Schenkman; Micucci by Nicolosi and Vault Management; and Friel by Artists and Reps and Goodman, Genow, Schenkman.
