EXCLUSIVE: Studiocanal has boarded sales on Jeanne Herry’s Cannes 2026 Palme d’Or contender Another Day (Garance) and revealed a first look of Adèle Exarchopoulos in the lead role.

The drama was announced as having been selected for Cannes’ main competition at the festival’s traditional press conference in Paris on Thursday.

Exarchopoulos stars as gifted young actress Garance whose raw magnetism and vibrant spirit have yet to earn her the recognition she craves.

Living paycheck to paycheck in a small Paris apartment, she feels increasingly suffocated by fleeting relationships, rising anxiety and the grip of an alcohol addiction quietly tightening around her life.

Her devotion to her sick younger sister and a tender, blossoming romance with Pauline (Sara Giraudeau), offer a fragile lifeline. As these bonds deepen, she finds the strength to confront the darkness she has long avoided, setting her on a difficult but transformative journey to self-renewal.

The film is produced by long-time collaborators Alain Attal at Trésor Films and Hugo Sélignac at Chi-Fou-Mi Productions, whose recent joint productions include Gilles Lellouche’s Cannes box office breakout Beating Hearts.

Studiocanal is on board as co-producer and is handling international sales.

Herry previously won critical acclaim for the 2023 drama All Your Faces in which Victims of violent crime and perpetrators met up in a restorative justice group in order to have a dialogue and heal from their trauma.

Exarchopoulos won a César for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in the film alongside the ensemble cast which also featured Leïla Bekhti, Elodie Bouchez, Lellouche, Jean-Pierre Darroussin and the director’s mother Miou-Miou.
