EXCLUSIVE: Wes Studi and Dane DiLiegro have joined the cast of Amazon MGM Studios’ Seasons from writer-director Drew Hancock alongside previously announced stars, Lily James, Jack Reynor, Ron Perlman, and Elizabeth McGovern. 21 Laps’ Shawn Levy and Dan Levine; Blumhouse Atomic Monster’s James Wan and Michael Clear, 12:01 Films’ Scott Glassgold; and Dan Cohen will produce. Judson Scott is an executive producer for Blumhouse Atomic Monster, and Alayna Glasthal is the executive overseeing for the company.
Hancock’s script is adapted from the book by Matt & Harrison Query, which in turn was based on a short story by Matt Query which first appeared on Reddit. The project follows a husband and wife who buy their dream ranch only to discover the land is alive with ancient spirits, and survival means submitting to increasingly disturbing rituals with each turn of the season.
This is the third team-up between 21 Laps and the team at Blumhouse Atomic Monster, who most recently produced A24’s Backrooms, which smashed the studio’s opening weekend box office record ($81.4M domestic) and became A24’s highest-grossing release worldwide ($394.1M WW)Studi’s features include the multi-Oscar winner Dances with Wolves, The Last of the Mohicans, Geronimo: An American Legend, and Heat, as well as James Cameron’s Academy Award-winning Avatar, Paul Weitz’s Being Flynn, and Scott Cooper’s Hostiles. Other notable film credits include The Only Good Indian, which he also produced, The New World Street Fighter, Seraphim Falls, Three Priests, and such television movies as Crazy Horse, Comanche Moon, Streets of Laredo, Broken Chain, Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee, and Bandland. Other TV credits include Showtime’s Penny Dreadful, The Mentalist, Hell on Wheels, and Kings. Studi is represented by Paradigm Agency and Michael Black Management, Inc.
DiLiegro can be seen in Netflix’s Running Point as well as season 5 of Hulu’s Only Murder’s in the Building. DiLiegro previously retired from professional basketball to pursue acting. Within two weeks, he booked his first acting role in the Netflix series Sweet Home. He also appeared in The Walking Dead and Side Hustle. In 2021, Dane portrayed the titular character ‘Ba’al’ in the fifth episode of American Horror Stories opposite Billie Lourd. He can also be seen in Lucasfilm’s Star Wars series Skeleton Crew. The actor’s film credits include Prey, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3,V/H/S/Beyond, and Monsters of California. DiLiegro is repped by Mosaic, CAA, and Sloane, Offer, Weber & Dern.
