Zara Larsson’s 2026 Chart Breakthrough Proves 2016 Is Truly Back

The coronation marks the latest milestone for the hit, which surged after Alysa Liu skated to it in her exhibition performance at the Milano Cortina Olympics Feb. 21, even emulating some of PinkPantheress’ choreography from the song’s video. Two days earlier, Liu became the women’s figure skating champion, earning the U.S. its first gold medal in the event since 2002.

In March, “Stateside” twirled to the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100, reaching No. 6, and spent a week atop both the Billboard Global 200 and the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts. It has also topped the Hot Dance/Pop Songs chart for 16 weeks running.

Each act leads Pop Airplay for the first time, following one prior top 10 apiece. PinkPantheress’ “Boy’s a Liar, Pt. 2,” with Ice Spice, hit No. 7 in 2023, while Larsson sent “Never Forget You,” with MNEK, to No. 5 in 2016. Concurrent with “Stateside,” Larsson is scaling the chart with her third top 10, “Midnight Sun,” which ascends 5-4 for a new high.

Meanwhile, Larsson charts four titles on Pop Airplay for a sixth week — she’s the only act to achieve the feat this year. Alongside her two top 10s, the revived “Lush Life” holds at is No. 28 high, and Tyla’s “She Did It Again,” on which Larsson is featured, keeps at its No. 29 best.

KIIS-FM Los Angeles and KYLD San Francisco, both iHeartMedia Pop Airplay reporters, are among the leaders in plays to date for “Stateside,” with the company’s vp of pop programming Mark Adams having recently praised Larsson’s “joyous dance and synth-pop” among “the great variety of artists and songs across the format right now.”

All charts dated June 20 will update on Billboard.com Tuesday, June 16.
