EXCLUSIVE: Evangeline Lilly has joined the feature documentary Farmacy of Light as narrator and executive producer.
Following its award-winning festival run last year, Farmacy of Light has been updated with the narration, and the final version will be available for free global streaming from June 23 to 27.
Starring Erik Cutter (The Need To Grow), Dr. Zach Bush, Dr. Valencia Porter, and Dr. Mae-Wan Ho, Farmacy of Light explores the field of biophotonics and scientific knowledge that’s been suppressed for decades.
The documentary’s logline: With chronic disease and malnutrition rates skyrocketing, a renegade farmer uncovers the link between human health and the dire need for local, light-filled food. Will society align with the quantum physics of healing before it’s too late?
“I’ve always been an advocate for holistic solutions when it comes to taking care of our own health, and the Earth as a whole. Farmacy of Light is about the next frontier, acknowledging our relationship to light. The sun, circadian rhythms, photon energy in fresh food, and even how the cells in our body communicate with each other using light. This film shows us cutting-edge discoveries that point towards decentralizing how we feed ourselves and how we heal, so we can all step towards the resilient future we want,” shared Lilly.
Added director Ryan Wirick, “Because Farmacy of Light introduces concepts about light and healing that are truly revolutionary, it was critical to find not only the right voice, but on a deeper level, the right creative human being who aligns with the film’s message. Evangeline is an incredibly intelligent, talented, and heart-centered badass with the perfect voice for the project. We couldn’t be more thrilled.”
Wirick (The Need To Grow) serves as director, writer, producer, cinematographer, and editor. Rob Herring (Let Them Be Naked, The Need To Grow) serves as writer and producer via his and Wirick’s production company Earth Conscious Films. Nikki Wirick and Kassi Crews also produce.
Lilly’s career in Hollywood is characterized by making very limited and specific choices. She has worked in some of Hollywood’s biggest franchises, including Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit Trilogy, playing the red-haired elf, Tauriel, and Kevin Feige’s Marvel Cinematic Universe, playing The Wasp. She is best known for playing Kate Austen in ABC’s hit series Lost.
Outside of acting, Lilly founded and runs a non-profit in the African nation of Rwanda, with a focus on providing stability, education, food, love, and mentorship to a select group of street-kids since 2005. She has also written and published the first two of a series of children’s books called The Squickerwonkers and is in the process of writing multiple other book publications, both in the children’s and adult spaces, as well as writing scripts for both film and TV. Lilly is represented by UTA and Sloane, Offer, Weber & Dern.
