EXCLUSIVE:  Point Grey Pictures’ EVP of Film and TV Alexandria McAtee will segue into a production deal with the Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg and James Weaver company. McAtee has been with the label for 15 years and won an Outstanding Comedy Series Emmy last fall for the hit AppleTV+ and Lionsgate series, The Studio.

Prior to starting with Point Grey Pictures in 2011, Dallas native McAtee worked her way up in physical production offices on TV shows and features such as Adam Sandler’s You Don’t Mess With the Zohan and Rogen’s The Green Hornet. It was on the latter that she met her future Point Grey employers.

Under the pact, Point Grey will have a first look at new projects McAtee is producing. As an independent producer, she is currently developing a comedy feature that is set to star Carmen Christopher, who co-wrote the script with Jake Bender & Zach Dunn. She will also be expanding her work within The Muppet Show franchise following the success of this year’s acclaimed TV special, on which she served as a key producer. The special reached 7.58 million viewers across ABC and Disney+ in its first eight days. Building on that momentum, talks around additional episodes are underway, with McAtee attached to produce.

McAtee is also a producer on The Wrong Girls, which she produced with Point Grey, and Nevermind, which is slated for release this summer by Neon.

“We are thrilled to be entering into a first look deal with Alex, who has been a trusted producer on some of Point Grey’s signature movies and TV. Her passion and taste are remarkable, and we look forward to seeing the projects and talent she’ll champion in this next chapter,” said Point Grey Pictures’ Rogen, Goldberg and Weaver.

“Saying I’m excited to continue and evolve my working relationship with Evan, Seth and James is an understatement. They’ve been mentors since we started working together 15 years ago, and I can’t wait for this next evolution. In this new chapter, I look forward to continuing to work with Point Grey and their partners as well as develop film and television on my own—with emerging filmmakers and talent whose projects speak to a comedic sensibility that genuinely excites me,” added McAtee.
