Mikayla Nogueira is firing back at renewed accusations that she uses filters to alter her appearance on social media.
The 28-year-old TikTok beauty influencer shared an impassioned video after seeing side-by-side comparisons of photos of herself circulating online, with critics accusing her of using face-altering or skin-blurring filters.
Mikayla previously addressed similar accusations earlier this year after a red carpet video went viral, but she says the latest discourse has gone too far after people began questioning what message her content sends to young girls.

She said people were “blatantly going out of their way to find the worst possible snapshot” of her and comparing it with flattering images before accusing her of using filters “to deceive my audience.”
Mikayla explained that she had sworn she wouldn’t address the accusations again, but changed her mind when the discussion expanded to whether allegedly filtered content could negatively affect young girls.
“The conversation has gotten so big that I need to talk about this,” she said.
Mikayla Nogueira Denies Using Face-Altering Filters
During the video, Mikayla showed additional photos of herself that she said were unedited, including a Getty image taken by someone else.
“What you’ll notice is I look exactly like the person in my videos,” she argued.
“I don’t filter my videos,” she continued, acknowledging that she does use lighting while filming. “Every beauty influencer uses lights.”
She also attributed some of the differences in her appearance to the different cameras and lenses used to capture photos and videos.
Mikayla said she’s exhausted by repeatedly defending herself against the same accusations, adding, “I don’t use any form of beauty mode whatsoever.”
The influencer previously made a similar denial in April after footage from the Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special premiere prompted renewed discussion about her appearance. At the time, she similarly maintained that she does not film her videos using filters.
She Responds to Claims She’s Deceiving Young Girls
Mikayla took particular issue with the suggestion that her content could deceive younger viewers by presenting an altered appearance.
“I’m done with it,” she said.
She instead accused the unnamed drama channel creator behind one of the comparison videos of contributing to harmful commentary about women’s appearances.
“You are the problem, not me,” Mikayla said, claiming that the creator knew the type of comments the comparison would generate.
She said the resulting comment section included people criticizing her appearance and suggesting that she undergo cosmetic procedures.
“So which one is it? Do you want me to be myself, or do you want me to change who I am? Make up your mind,” she said.
Mikayla Calls Herself a “Non-Attractive Beauty Influencer”
Mikayla also offered her own theory for why her appearance receives so much scrutiny online.
“I think the only reason this conversation exists is because people consider me a non-attractive beauty influencer,” she said. “I’m a non-attractive individual, but I made it as a beauty influencer.”
“And how confusing is that to people, that someone who’s not attractive could make it as a beauty influencer?” she continued, adding that she didn’t know whether jealousy played a role and didn’t care.
Toward the end of the video, Mikayla addressed an unnamed drama creator directly, criticizing them for making money from content about her and asking them to “reevaluate” what they considered a productive conversation.
“Women should be supporting each other, lifting each other up, encouraging each other, not just dissecting a woman’s looks in the comments,” she said.
Mikayla concluded by reiterating her denial that she uses filters and telling the unnamed creator, “I’m done with this conversation.”
She then joked that she was going to make herself a coffee because she deserved it, before adding one final message to the person she was addressing, saying she hopes their pillow is “warm.”
