EXCLUSIVE: Sony and Marvel Studios’ Spider-Man: Brand New Day is bringing some Ka-Pow and Boom to advance tickets sales to use comic-book lingo: The Tom Holland starring, Destin Daniel Kretton directed sequel we hear has posted the best first day presales in five years, and the best overall for 2026 year-to-date.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day opens on July 31 in the wake of Universal’s Christoper Nolan epic The Odyssey two weeks prior.

The last time we had big presales records was for Spider-Man: No Way Home. That movie before posting the second-best opening at the domestic B.O. ever ($260.1M) behind 2019’s Avengers: Endgame ($357.1M) had accumulated an estimated $78M in presales before its Dec. 17, 2021 opening date. Spider-Man: Brand New Day takes place following the events of No Way Home after Peter Parker has erased the memories of g.f. MJ (Zendaya).

We understand that Spider-Man: Brand New Day also beats 2022’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (that Disney Marvel Studios movie opening to $187.4M).
