Netflix has another huge hit on its hand with its new Swedish mystery series Blood Sacrifice and many people are eager to find out if more of the show is on the way.
With just five episodes, it’s particularly impressive that the show has managed to captivate millions of people worldwide. Netflix has not renewed or canceled Blood Sacrifice as of publication.
One positive sign is that Netflix is advertising the current season as “season 1” and hasn’t used any billing to say it’s a “limited series” or that the fifth episode is a “series finale.”
Has Netflix renewed Blood Sacrifice for season 2?
There has been no official renewal announcement as of Monday night, August 24. But that’s not unusual since the series just came out on August 20.
Because it just came out, it means we probably won’t get an update on its future for a little longer as the streamer monitors its viewership numbers. It’s off to a fantastic start though, as the No. 2 top show on the Netflix streaming charts.

What is Blood Sacrifice about, and who stars in it?
The official logline shared by Netflix is as follows: “When grisly police murders being to haunt Stockholm every Friday at 1:15 a.m., an ambitious detective races to stop the killer from striking again.”
The Swedish thriller stars Jakob Oftebro, Peter Andersson, and Electra Hallman. Supporting cast members include Alexander Abdallah, Henrik Norlen, Lisette Pagler, Magnus Krepper, Irina Bjorklund, Anders Mossling, and Anna-Maria Kall.
George Kay is the creator and all five episodes are now streaming on Netflix.
