Matthew Needham is voicing The Joker in the upcoming second season of Prime Video‘s Batman: Caped Crusader.
The news was revealed at San Diego Comic-Con on Thursday that the House of the Dragon actor would be adding his name to the list of prolific actors who have lent their talents to the Clown Prince of Crime.
The Caped Crusader team excited fans down in San Diego with the world premiere screening of the Season 2 premiere episode, as well as a lively conversation about the animated noir series featuring executive producers James Tucker, Geoffrey Thorne and series voice cast Hamish Linklater and Jamie Chung. Needham, of course, was also on hand to help announce the news of his casting. At the end of the panel, Amazon Luna shared the trailer for their upcoming Batman: Caped Crusader – Chronicles game, which will launch on July 31 — the same date that Season 2 launched on Prime. Needham will also portray the iconic villain in the game, alongside Linklater and Michelle C. Bonilla.
Batman: Caped Crusader is a hard-boiled animated series that follows the fearsome vigilante in his early years. The voice cast also includes Eric Morgan Stuart, Michelle C. Bonilla, Krystal Joy Brown, Jason Watkins, Gary Anthony Williams, Ronan Raftery, Wunmi Mosaku, Laraine Newman, Grey DeLisle, John DiMaggio, Zach Hoffman, William Salyers, Josh Brener, Bumper Robinson, Cedric Yarbrough, Tom Kenny, Roger Craig Smith, Blythe Melin, Fryda Wolff, Kevin Michael Richardson, Juliet Donenfeld and Robin Atkin Downes. Batman: Caped Crusader Season 2 will be available to stream as a binge release on Friday, July 31 on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide. Season 1 is currently streaming.
