Jennifer Lopez’s love don’t cost a thing—but that doesn’t mean she won’t treat her kids to a lavish vacation.
Ahead of the “On the Floor” singer and ex Marc Anthony’s twins Max and Emme, both 18, heading off to college, she shared a glimpse into their family trip to Italy.
“Road tripping with my coconuts,” Lopez wrote in an Aug. 3 Instagram post adding alongside a crying emoji, “before they head off to college.”
In photos, the Hustlers star proved she and her kids were hitting all the best spots in Italy, including sight-seeing at the Colosseum in Rome, as well as catching Leonardo da Vinci’s “The Last Supper” hanging in Milan. Naturally, the 57-year-old left plenty of time for espressos, Italian dining and even a ride on a gondola as seen in one video.
Ahead of her kids heading to college in the fall, she has not held back on expressing the mixed feelings of becoming an empty nester.
“They're so independent,” Lopez mused during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live in June. “I've given them roots and wings and it's great and this is how it is. This is a healthy mom thing to do.”
Still, it’s been bittersweet to hit so many milestones with her not-so-little ones.
“I just was like writing something for the end of the school year thing for them to put in the program at the graduation,” she continued. “And I just have not, like every time it comes up I just start crying. I could cry right now.”
Indeed, the Maid in Manhattan actress emphasized it’s been an emotional time for her.
“It’s been the three of us,” she explained. “People have come in and out of my life, but it’s been the three of us. They’ve always been there, and I’ve always been there.”
But she won’t let her sadness get in the way of her excitement for her kids’ new chapter.
“I remember being that age and thinking I couldn’t wait to get out in the world and do my thing,” she said during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in May. “I really wanted that. All year people are asking me, ‘Oh they’re going away to college it’s going to be terrible.’ No, it’s going to be great.”
