Gemma Arterton-led drama Secret Service has landed a U.S. home.
The spy thriller will stream on MGM+ after the streamer picked up rights for North America, Latin America and Italy.
The five-part series, which is based on a book by Tom Bradby, a news anchor who hosts the British broadcaster’s News At Ten, stars Arterton as senior MI6 officer Kate Henderson as a covert investigation uncovers evidence that a high-ranking UK politician may be working as a Russian asset. With trust shattered and her career on the line, Kate must navigate the shifting sands of political loyalty, international threat, and personal sacrifice as she races to uncover their identity before it’s too late.
Produced by Potboiler Productions, which was behind Jennifer Lawrence’s Lynne Ramsay-directed film Die My Love, it is co-financed and distributed by All3Media International.
Rafe Spall and Alex Kingston also star alongside Mark Stanley, Roger Allam, Amaka Okafor, Aoife Hinds, Avi Nash, Alma Prelec and Khalid Abdalla.
Bradby wrote the script with Jemma Kennedy and James Marsh and Farren Blackburn direct. It is exec produced by Bradby, Gail Egan, Andrea Calderwood and Chloe Sizer.
The series performed well in the UK when it premiered in April with nearly 4M viewers for its opening episode and is ITV’s second-best new drama launch of 2026.
“Secret Service is an exciting addition to the MGM+ slate,” said Michael Wright, global head of MGM+. “Tom Bradby and Jemma Kennedy’s adaptation, directed by Oscar-winner James Marsh and featuring star turns from Gemma Arterton, Rafe Spall, and Alex Kingston, delivers on the MGM+ promise of classic Hollywood storytelling for a modern audience. It’s smart, timely, and hugely entertaining.”
