Marcus Scribner is married!

The 26-year-old actor, best known for playing Andre Johnson Jr. on black-ish, recently married childhood sweetheart Gracie Globerman in a dinner-party ceremony at the Los Angeles restaurant République

The pair first met in sixth grade at Emerson Middle School in Los Angeles.

“I remember seeing her during one of our lunches over at the benches, thinking, ‘Who is that?'” Marcus recalled to Vogue.

While they shared the same friend group, the two did not date during their middle school years.

“Not many people look back fondly on their middle school days, but we both joke that those three years were our peak,” Gracie said. “Our archive consists of pictures of us trick-or-treating together, partying at Marcus’ iconic Halloween parties, and me absolutely towering over him at graduation.”

They lost touch during their early high school days, but later re-connected their senior year while volunteering at a mentoring event at Emerson.

“I saw her there and knew it was fate,” Marcus said. “I could finally grow a full mustache. I was feeling confident.”

Since Gracie was in a relationship at the time, they didn’t immediately start dating.

“So the long game continued,” Marcus said. “As soon as my homie hit me and told me they broke up, I sprang into action. The rest is history.”

Marcus proposed in August 2025, during a picnic at an arboretum in Davis, Calif., where Gracie attended college. The couple, who now live in New York City, decided to wed in Los Angeles so their grandparents could attend the celebration.
