A familiar face in the Yellowstone universe will be returning for Season 2 of Taylor Sheridan‘s Marshals in a recurring role. Jefferson White, who portrayed fan-favorite Jimmy Hurdstrom in Yellowstone, will reprise the role in the upcoming second season of the spinoff series.
White’s Jimmy Hurdstrom is a good-hearted yet rough-around-the-edges ranch hand who evolved from a troubled criminal into a resilient, proud cowboy. You can see a first-look photo above.
“I’m thrilled to dive into the world of Marshals and continue exploring the American West,” said White. “The cast and crew are stacked full of my favorite actors and filmmakers, and I’m honored to join them. Jimmy and I have been through a lot together, and I can’t wait to see what’s next for us.”
Marshals stars Luke Grimes reprising his role as Kayce Dutton as he joins an elite unit of U.S. Marshals, combining his skills as a cowboy and Navy SEAL to bring range justice to Montana.
In Yellowstone, White’s character Hurdstram was shipped off to Texas after injuring himself in a rodeo and breaking a promise to John Dutton, played by Kevin Costner. He went to work with Travis Wheatley, played by Taylor Sheridan himself, at the 6666 Ranch.
The second season of Marshals will, in fact, feature some action in Texas given that Kayce Dutton’s son Tate, played Brecken Merrill, is in trouble after being taken bass fishing in Texas by Tom Weaver, played by Chris Mulkley, a Wall Street trader-turned-rancher who has been trying to buy Dutton’s East Camp.
Produced by Paramount Television Studios and 101 Studios, Season 2 of Marshals will premiere Sunday, Oct. 4 on CBS and streaming on Paramount+.
Marshals is executive produced by Sheridan, David Glasser, John Linson, Art Linson, Spencer Hudnut, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Michael Freidman, Luke Grimes, and Keith Cox. Hudnut also serves as showrunner for the series.
On the film side, White most recently starred alongside Kirsten Dunst in Civil War, and Anne Hathaway in Eileen. He’ll next be seen starring as Harvey Lee Oswald in November 1963, in The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, and in Rambo, opposite Noah Centino. He’s repped by Lichter, Grossman, Nichols, Feldman, Rogal, Shikora & Clark, Principal Entertainment LA and Gersh.
