CNN‘s channels went dark on Monday across multiple distribution points, a problem the news network attributed to a “technical issue” at parent company Warner Bros. Discovery.
“We are aware of a technical issue across Warner Bros. Discovery that resulted in losing CNN channels for a period of time today,” the news outlet’s PR team said in a statement. “We are working quickly to resolve it and apologize for the interruption.”
Reports of problems with CNN’s live channel spiked at around 12:16 p.m. ET, according to monitoring service Downdetector, with 893 user-contributed error reports. Most of the problems reported were related to the live channel.
