Nearly four years after the Sister Wives star split from Kody Brown following almost 30 years together, Janelle hard launched her new boyfriend, whom she simply referred to as Pete.
“Some chapters are meant to unfold quietly before they’re shared,” Janelle posted to Instagram Aug. 18. “I wasn’t looking. I certainly wasn’t expecting you. And somehow, you turned out to be exactly what I didn’t know I needed.”
While Janelle teased that the latest, secret chapter has been “pretty wonderful,” she was ready to reveal the news to the world, adding, “Everyone please meet Pete.”
Alongside the sweet message, the 57-year-old shared a selfie of herself and Pete embracing while posing together in front of a river.
Naturally, fans were thrilled to see that the reality star had finally found someone new.
“Yessssssssss Janelle!!!” one fan wrote in the comments, with another adding clapping emojis and writing, “OMGGGGGGG.”
And one fan summed it up, “Wow! Didn’t see this coming. So happy for you.”
Indeed, Janelle’s hard launch certainly came as a surprise as the TLC star previously admitted she wasn’t looking for love.
"I'm not really interested in getting married again or even really dating at this stage,” she shared on the Sibling Revelry podcast in 2025. “So I'm not even thinking about, like, 'Oh, what do I need to do?' Because I'm just like, I am over."
It wasn’t a bitter defeat, though. As Janelle added at the time, "I love my single life."
But despite being satisfied solo, the 57-year-old—who shares kids Logan Brown, 32, Madison Brush, 30, Hunter Brown, 29, the late Garrison Brown, 25, Gabriel Brown, 24, and Savanah Brown, 21, with Kody—wasn’t ready to rule out romance completely.
"I suspect that someday down the road, if there's somebody else, then that will be part of it," she said on the Sister Wives: One on One special in 2025. "I'm a Taurus and I'm a very Earth Mama: Everything earthy, food, wine, sex—all of it.”
Trust, Janelle was sure at least one part of her story wasn’t over.
"Everybody has this idea just because I didn't want to have assembly line kisses with Kody or whatever, that I was asexual," she recalled. "It's so wild to me that everybody has assumed."
Especially because Janelle was feeling the exact opposite, saying, “The hormones are hell when you're single. I’m a very sexual being.”

"She looked like a soccer mom," Kody Brown once joked on Sister Wives of meeting then-single mom Robyn in 2009. "She had a van, three kids and was divorced. As for bringing on other teammates, it's not in the game plan. "I really, really struggle with it because it feels, like, 'Oh, well. Those didn't work. So, on to [someone] new,'" Robyn said on the December 2024 Sister Wives: One on One special of Meri Brown, Janelle Brown and Christine Brown leaving the fold. "That's hard for me. That's really, really hard for me. It feels disrespectful."

The couple wed in July 2023, captioning a photo from the ceremony: "Say hello to mrs (x2) queiroz."
