Seth Rogen has no plans to rekindle his friendship with James Franco.

The Studio actor reflected on the end of his relationship with his longtime collaborator after sexual misconduct allegations were made against Franco in the 2010s.

ā€œI honestly think the nuance of it is too personal for me to get into right now,ā€ Rogen explained to The New York Times in an interview published June 13. ā€œIt is a very personal thing. There’s the public-facing side of it, which I’ve spoken about, and I have the same stance publicly that I’ve had, and I think the proof is in the pudding—I have not worked with him in years.ā€

And while the professional side of their relationship ended, Rogen was hesitant to get into the weeds of the personal side, noting it was ā€œjust so nuanced.ā€

ā€œIt involves people that I don’t know if I should be dragging into this,ā€ the 44-year-old said. ā€œI don’t know what I would benefit from getting deeply into it. Nothing has changed since the last time I talked about all this, and I haven’t worked with him in a really long time and I have no plans to.ā€

Rogen also revealed that he had not ā€œtalked to [Franco] in a long time.ā€

The Superbad actor previously discussed his feelings about Franco and how the accusations against him impacted their friendship.

ā€œIt has changed many things in our relationship and our dynamic,ā€ Rogen told The Times in 2021. ā€œI despise abuse and harassment and I would never cover or conceal the actions of someone doing it, or knowingly put someone in a situation where they were around someone like that."

As for Franco, the 48-year-old—who denied all the accusations against him—had also gotten candid about where he stood with Rogen after the two met on the show Freaks and Geeks and continued working together on films like Pineapple Express (2008), The Interview (2014) and The Disaster Artist (2017).

ā€œI haven’t talked to Seth,ā€ the Spider-Man star told Variety in 2024. ā€œI love Seth, we had 20 great years together, but I guess it’s over. And not for lack of trying. I’ve told him how much he’s meant to me.ā€
