Netflix is adapting a new reality competition series based on an old school playground game.

Simon Says (yes, based on the classic kids game) is set to premiere in 2027, the streamer revealed on Thursday. But, there are some twists.

Netflix promises “this isn’t the Simon you remember from recess. In a mischievous and high-stakes twist, contestants will face a gauntlet of cunning challenges, strategic mind games, and unexpected pivots as they compete for a life-changing prize. One rule remains the same: if Simon says it, you’d better listen.”

To win over Simon and his prize money, players must decide when to follow orders or risk elimination. Obedience may buy another day, but every choice comes with consequences.

Emer Harkin (MTV’s The Challenge) will serve as showrunner. Executive producers are Julie Pizzi, Rupert Dobson, and Gayani Wanigaratne. Simon Says is produced by Bunim/Murray Productions, part of Banijay Americas.
