Nara Smith is giving another vulnerable look into her family’s toughest battle.

One week after the influencer shared that her and husband Lucky Blue Smith’s 2-year-old daughter Whimsy is battling cancer, she detailed how even the smallest losses can hit hard.

“Cancer has a way of taking things you never realized you’d grieve,” Nara shared in a July 7 Instagram post, alongside a supercut of videos showing her daughter’s hair loss. “The day I ran my fingers through her hair, strands coating them, I realized I wouldn’t be brushing Whimsy’s hair much longer.”

And the 24-year-old—also mom to Rumble Honey, 5, Slim Easy, 3, and Fawnie, 10 months with her husband, as well as stepmom to Gravity Blue, 8, whom Lucky shares with ex Stormi Bree—noted, “It’s such a small thing until it isn’t.”

Indeed, Nara admitted that the heartbreak can hit over and over.

“Tiny curls on her pillow,” she continued. “Hair caught in my fingers after bath time. Hair loss is one of the first visible reminders that life has changed.”

As the homemaker put it, “Watching Whimsy lose hers has been one of the hardest parts of this journey.”

For Nara, her toddler losing her hair was a physical reminder of what her entire family has been up against.

“It wasn’t just hair,” she detailed. “It was the little curls I tucked behind her ears, the wispy strands that caught the sunlight, and all the ordinary moments I never imagined I’d miss.”

But Nara emphasized she wasn’t sharing her story for sympathy.

“If sharing these pieces of our story helps even one family feel less alone, or encourages one person to learn more about childhood cancer, then this vulnerable part of our lives is worth opening,” she continued, going on to end on a heartening note, “Today her curls are returning.”

And while her toddler has been completing her treatments, Nara didn’t let the sadness of her losing hair hang in the air. In fact, she recently shared how she was able to find a sliver of a silver lining as her daughter lost her hair, showing off her bald head completely covered in rhinestones.

Alongside a photo of her daughter’s colorful look, Nara added in the caption, “Little warrior girl.”
