Tarek and Heather Rae El Moussa‘s home has been burglarized.
While the reality stars and their family were on vacation in Mexico last week, their home in Newport Beach, Calif. home was broken in to.
The Newport Beach Police Department confirmed to People that “unknown suspects accessed the backyard of the property and shattered a rear sliding glass door to get into the house.”
The incident occurred approximately between 7:30 a.m. local time on Saturday, June 6, and 6 p.m. local time on Monday, June 8.
“Inside the residence, the suspects ransacked the primary bedroom closet before fleeing through the backyard, along the side of the house and out the front yard,” the department added, noting that jewelry was stolen from the property.
On Tuesday (June 9), Heather, 38, posted a cryptic message on her Instagram Story, saying that she and Tarek, 44, felt “violated,” and that they were “taking a break” for a while.
“Disgusted by some of the cruel heartless people in this world. Tarek and I feel violated and to be honest really sad,” Heather wrote. “Taking a break for a few days and will [be] back to explain soon. We are safe & the kids are safe.”
Before the incident, Heather and Tarek shared photos of videos on social media as they vacationed in Cabo San Lucas with their family.
