Genius has promoted Jackie Vignone to chief revenue officer, the company announced. She joined the company eight years ago, assisting with their investments in data licensing, lyric sublicensing and consumer products.
Within her new role, Vignone will oversee a growth strategy that aims to convert Genius’ proprietary music data, audience reach and cultural currency into revenue opportunities.
“Jackie has been instrumental in innovating Genius’ commercial business to reinforce the company’s value in an increasingly competitive market,” Michael Heyward, CEO MediaLab, which is the parent company of Genius, said in a statement. “Under her leadership and collaboration, Genius will evolve beyond its core business into exciting new areas that level up the company’s B2B and B2C offerings and create more reasons for partners to choose Genius.”
Vignone has also appointed Sara Kern as vp of marketing and creative strategy, Gabe Silverman as music partnerships and development lead and Devon Chaiken as vp, head of sales. Kern joins from Paramount and had helped with leading the company’s global rebrand and launch of Paramount+. Silverman previously served at Amazon Music and Meta. Chaiken oversaw the West Coast sales team at Genius and will now lead national revenue strategy for Genius’ brand partnerships division.
“Genius has built one of the most engaged audiences in music and one of the richest ecosystems of lyrics, cultural insights and music intelligence anywhere in the industry,” Vignone said in a statement. “We’re deepening that foundation into new licensing, data and partnership opportunities while building products that help artists, brands and music companies better understand and connect with their highest-value audiences.”
