Last Seen has reached the end of its first season, but could the Apple TV thriller come back for Season 2?

Is Last Seen getting a Season 2?
Apple TV has not renewed Last Seen for a second season as of Wednesday (October 7).
However, the show’s cast and creative team are already talking about the possibility of continuing the story.
Writer and executive producer Kris Mrksa told TV Insider that conversations about another season have started.
“The reality is we are talking about it and about what we might do,” he said, adding that it is still “very early days.”
Patrick, who plays Ian Ridley, is also open to returning.
He said he thinks there “definitely” could be more story to tell, though he doesn’t yet know what a second season would look like.
“The story’s very well told, I think. Having said that, Apple’s got my number. I’m very happy to talk,” he added.
What could happen in Last Seen Season 2?
Kris said a second season would likely keep the focus on the complicated relationship between Ian and Sarah, the daughter he spent years searching for.
He said there is still “a whole lot of territory” to explore between the two characters because their relationship remains filled with “difficulties and complexities.”
“I think the heart of it would have to be that relationship and exploring the difficulties that they face in trying to repair that,” he explained.
The Season 1 finale answers the main mystery about Ian’s missing daughter, but Sarah is left dealing with everything that happened to her.
Maxine Peake, who plays Jenna, said another season could focus more heavily on Sarah and what happens to her next.
“Everyone forgets about Sarah,” she said, adding that there is a lot to explore when it comes to how Sarah heals and moves forward after everything she has experienced.
Chloe Jean Lourdes, who plays Sarah, also said she would be interested in exploring how her character deals with trauma and grief.
She said it would be interesting to see Sarah trying to build relationships with her birth mother Deb, her brother Dean and Ian, while also adjusting to a very different life.
Chloe also mentioned the possibility of Sarah going to school for the first time and continuing her relationship with Tommy, played by Felix Cameron.
“I think that it would be really wonderful to watch how she builds her relationships with Deb and Dean and Ian and starting school for the first time,” she said.
For now, though, Season 1 was designed to work as a complete story.
Chloe described the six episodes as having “a very clear start and end,” while Patrick said he feels the story has a strong ending even though some questions remain.
Last Seen is based on Ryan David Jahn‘s 2011 novel The Dispatcher. The Apple TV adaptation also stars Brendan Cowell, Jessica Wren, Daniel Henshall, Zahra Newman and Tobias Muhafidin.
