The event will serve as the perfect warm-up as the band prepares for its newly announced 2027 run through South America before heading to Australia and New Zealand with Faith No More. The band recently completed a European and U.K. tour and headlined the Sick New World Festival in Las Vegas in April. Faith No More last toured Australia in 2015, backing the final Soundwave edition.
For the Grammy winners, their return to Brazil carries special meaning. The band headlined a performance at Rock in Rio in 2015 and held shows in São Paulo last year when they returned to South America, performing five stadium shows as part of its “Wake Up! South America Stadium Tour.”
System of a Down released its fifth and most recent studio album, Hypnotize, in 2005. The project, part of a double-album concept following 2005’s Mezmerize, remains the band’s last full-length album. Both projects reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200, making the band the first to land two No. 1 studio albums in the same calendar year since Led Zeppelin in 1970.
