Jane Remover will no longer be performing at M3F Fest, after urging promoters to take Israeli band Temper City off the bill.

Last month, the experimental artist shared a post on Instagram Stories, telling organisers at M3F Fest that they would refuse to play at the event unless the alt-rock trio Temper City was removed from the line-up.

The push, they shared, was due to the group’s alleged ties to the Israel Defense Forces. “ “Yo, get that IDF band off the lineup or I’m not playing,” they wrote on August 5.

Temper City are based in LA and best known for their song ‘Self Aware’, which dropped earlier this year and went on to both become a huge hit on TikTok and also top the Billboard’s Alternative Airplay chart.

Israeli army service is mandatory for the majority of Israeli citizens from the age of 18 and, as per a report from Stereogum, Temper City frontman Eytan Peled has spoken previously about his time in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).

A month on from Jane Remover’s post on Instagram Stories, the bill for the festival has been updated, with Temper City still on the line-up and Jane Remover’s name no longer appearing on the poster. Flying Lotus’s name now appears in the same spot.

Neither Temper City nor Jane Remover have publicly spoken out about the change to the line-up at time of writing, and M3F has not shared any reason behind the change to the poster.

NME has reached out to Temper City for comment.

M3F Fest will return to the usual spot in Phoenix, Arizona next year for the 2027 edition, and will run between March 5 and 6.

Before then, Temper City are set to play at Austin City Limits next month. Jane Remover is set to continue their headline US tour in Minneapolis on September 15.
