Swen Vincke, the founder and CEO of Baldur’s Gate 3 game studio Larian, has responded to My Chemical Romance’s Gerard Way talking about the franchise onstage at Wembley.

My Chemical Romance played their third and final headline show at Wembley Stadium on Saturday night (July 11) as part of their huge ‘Long Live The Black Parade’ tour.

During the second half of the show, where the band perform deep cuts and fan-favorites on a smaller b-stage in the middle of the venue, Gerard Way paused the show after his brother and the band’s bassist Mikey pointed out a banner that asked if they’d ever played hit fantasy role-playing game Baldur’s Gate 3.

“I’ve only played Baldur’s Gate 1,” replied Gerard. “Not that I probably wouldn’t have liked 2 and 3, but I just ran out of time. Did you play Baldur’s Gate 3,” Gerard then asked the fan. “Is it good? I would assume so. That first one was a lot of fun. It was the closest thing at the time to playing Dungeons & Dragons.”

The exchange has blown up on TikTok and other social media platforms, and now the creators of Baldur’s Gate 3 have gotten involved. “Gerard Way of My Chemical Romance, what do you mean you haven’t played the critically-acclaimed Dungeons & Dragons RPG, Baldur’s Gate 3,” wrote Larian Studios on X. “There’s a code with your name on it, if you fancy trying it.”

“I think we’ll add a parade to the next game,” added Larian boss Swen Vincke.

Elsewhere during the set, Gerard paid tribute to “amazing” British Warhammer illustrator John Blanche who passed away last month. “I want this really, really horrific, nasty, spooky song to go out to him,” he added, before the band played debut album cut ‘Vampires Will Never Hurt You’.

Larian are currently developing two new games after deciding to scrap work on a Baldur’s Gate 3 sequel and expansion. The first, Divinity, was revealed earlier this year but doesn’t currently have a release date.

In other news, the complete soundtrack for Assassin’s Creed Black Flag: Resynced is available to stream – check it out here.
