In an IBF light heavyweight title eliminator, promoters Matchroom Boxing goes to England for an epic match between two prime boxers. In the main event, 29-year-old English boxer Ben Whittaker faces 30-year-old Australian southpaw Conor Wallace. It’s a scheduled for 12 rounds, while the winner of the match gets a title shot against unified champion Dmitry Bivol.
On Saturday, Oct. 3, Whittaker (12-0-1) vs. Wallace (17-1-0) takes place at Utilita Arena Birmingham in Birmingham, England with a start time of 2 p.m. ET/11 a.m. PT. Ringwalk for the main event is expected around 5 p.m. ET/2 p.m. PT.
With Ben Whittaker competing against Conor Wallace in England, it’s likely the boxing event may feature a few of celebrities in attendance. Including fans who attended past fights, like Anthony Joshua, Tyson Fury, Idris Elba, Maya Jama and others.
And for the main event, Whittaker is the favorite to win and move on to the next step for the IBF light heavyweight title match. However, Wallace is a very technical and precise boxer, so don’t be surprised if he manages to survive all 12 rounds to win as the underdog.
