Alison Sweeney and Ashley Williams are reuniting in another Hallmark Channel movie together… and this time it will be a Christmas film!
The beloved Hallmark stars announced their exciting news while on stage for a 92NY panel on Tuesday night (August 4) in New York City.
More than 20 of Hallmark Channel’s biggest stars gathered to celebrate the network’s 25th birthday at an event moderated by Breanne Heldman from People.
Alison and Ashley’s upcoming movie revealed!
The two actresses previously worked together in the movies To Barcelona, With Love and To Barcelona, Forever, which aired across back-to-back weekends in June 2025.
“We had so much fun that literally day two, we were thinking, ‘How do we make this happen again? We have four more weeks, but we need more.’ We kept spitballing ideas and talking to the network and guess what?” Ali said at the 92NY panel.
Ashley chimed in, “We’re going to do a Christmas movie. This year!”
“It’s so cool. We’ve been working on it for a little while,” Ashley said. Ali then corrected her and noted it’s been a “long while.” Ashley added, “We’re really excited about the story.”
Ashley then talked about the women’s directing program she started at Hallmark Channel called Make Her Mark. “Essentially, what we do is we take an up-and-coming female director who just cannot get her first job, and we have her observe or shadow a veteran director for all of prep, shooting, and post. And then we hire her for her directorial debut and we have that mentor right by her side every single day of prep, shooting and post, once again ensuring her success,” she said.
Crystal Lowe, a longtime Hallmark actress, was the first woman to graduate the program and she’s about to direct her eighth movie, which will be the Christmas movie starring Alison and Ashley.
“We had no option other than to make her the director of this movie. We’re so excited. She’s going to rock it. We’re going to have a shadow, an observer of Crystal as a director, because she’s now a veteran,” Ashley said, adding the up-and-coming director Sarah Wilson Thacker will be part of the project as well.
