There are plenty of good-luck charms the superstitious can credit with helping the Knicks pull off the biggest comeback in NBA Finals history on Wednesday night: Jordyn Woods’ orange ostrich purse, which she’s carried to every winning game of the postseason; Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet’s matching Chrome Hearts looks; Ben Stiller’s Knicks-themed Air Force 1s.
But Taylor Swift brought her own spin on Knicks merch to Game 4, wearing a blue T-shirt emblazoned with “Stevie Knicks” in orange lettering. Este and Alana Haim — who reportedly made the shirts for the crew — wore their own punny versions, reading “Knickelback” and “Knickole Kidman.” They even brought an extra for Mariska Hargitay, who changed into one midway through the game.
Nicole Kidman showed her support, sharing footage of the trio on Instagram, writing “Right there with you girls!”
While Este Haim reportedly made the merch herself, there’s already plenty of copycat versions available on sites such as Etsy and Tee Public.
Madison Square Garden’s Celebrity Row — where A-list celebrities cheer on the Knicks from the sidelines — has become its own fashion show of sorts this season. Chalamet’s custom Knicks Timberlands, Kylie Jenner’s coveted vintage Knicks tees. Spike Lee’s David Zaslav, sitting next to Larry David on Wednesday night, in $1,200 Tom Ford sneakers.
Of course, the real highlight of the night was the action on the court, as the Knicks staged a miraculous comeback against the San Antonio Spurs in Game 4 of the NBA Finals. The Knicks, down by 29 points, looked down and out heading into the fourth quarter. But thanks to last-minute bucket from bucket from forward OG Anunoby, the Knicks managed to bring it within one with 1:47 to go. The final score was 106 to 107.
