Lala Sadii is hoping to make the jump from TikTok phenomenon to Disney star.
The singer and internet personality is attached to lead a series in development at Disney Channel and Disney+. Titled âLala IRL,â the live-action, scripted project promises to give a âbehind-the-scenesâ glimpse into the life of a social media supernova as she navigates school and family life.
The logline reads as follows: âBefore she became a social media superstar, Lala Sadii was just a girl trying to fit in like everyone else. But now, as millions hang on her every post, sheâs got plenty to navigate: jealous classmates, intrigued friends whoâd love just a little of her clout, concerned siblings, and strict parents who are absolutely going to lose their minds if they find out what sheâs been up to. âLala IRL,â inspired by the extraordinary true story of TikTok phenomenon Lala Sadii, gives us a âbehind-the-screensâ look at the girl whose dreams went supernova, and the collateral damage from the blast.â
Sadii has more than 25 million followers on TikTok, where her page has racked up over 1.7 billion likes. On social media, she shares funny skits and her original music.
Peter Paige (âQueer as Folk,â âThe Thing About Harryâ) is set to write and direct the series, executive producing alongside Sadii, Lauren Gellert, Billy Mann and Endemol Shine North Americaâs Sharon Levy and Lisa Fahrenholt.
