Arie Luyendyk Jr. is giving vasectomies another go.

The Bachelor Nation star underwent his second procedure two years after reversing the first one to have another child with his wife Lauren Burnham, with whom he shares daughter Alessi, 7, twins Senna and Lux, both 5, and 10-month-old baby girl Livvy.

As he captioned an Aug. 14 Instagram Story showing himself giving a thumbs up, "Today’s a good day to get a vasectomy."

But, unlike his first time around, Luyendyk Jr. is doing things differently by not having Burnham—who he married in 2019 after meeting her on his season of The Bachelor—with him in the room during the procedure.

"I’m going at it alone this time," he explained. "The first time was a little traumatic, and Lauren being there felt weird."

 "The second time, when I got the reversal, I was out cold," the 44-year-old continued. "Now this time, I’ve gone to a new doctor who does laughing gas, so I’m hoping this goes a little smoother."

He added, “But honestly, I can’t complain. This doesn’t hold a candle to giving birth."

Indeed, Luyendyk Jr. is familiar with the procedure. He underwent his first vasectomy after feeling "overwhelmed" with childcare following the 2021 birth of his twins.

"I can't be having kids any later than this in life," he explained at the time during an episode of the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast. "I want to be like an active dad. So, I think three is OK."

However, as the twins grew older, Luyendyk Jr. started thinking that he had "rushed" his decision to get a vasectomy.

"Honestly, it’s more on me, I think having the twins was hard at first," he explained last year in a vlog announcing that he had reversed the procedure in 2024. "I kind of remember a moment of watching Senna, and all of our kids are at the best age right now. I just felt like, ‘Dang it, I think we could do this again.'"

And when Burnham became pregnant with Livvy, the couple made the decision to stop expanding their family after four kids.

"I think four is a good number," Luyendyk Jr. told E! News in June 2025. "I think any more than that is kind of crazy. That's, like, a basketball team."

After saying hello to the procedure, Ashton Kutcher took a THC mint at a friend’s wedding in Italy and, as he put it to Esquire, "that s--t did not go well," explaining that after the high hit he was convinced he lost feeling below his waist.

Kane Brown doesn’t have any more what ifs about getting a vasectomy.Because after he welcomed son Krewe with wife Katelyn Brown in 2024, the country singer—who is also dad to their daughters Kingsley and Kodi—had the procedure."I’m just sky high," Kane recalled on The Bobby Bones Show of how doctors and nurses gave him gas. The former Bachelor shared in 2022 that he had a vasectomy—then underwent a reversal in 2024. Months later, Arie and Lauren Burnham announced they were expecting baby no. 4, with daughter Livvy arriving in 2025.

However, he underwent a sperm-retrieval procedure after marrying wife Courtney Sixx in 2014, and the couple welcomed daughter Ruby five years later."They just had to take it out of me—that's no party getting your [testicles] cut open," he joked to USA Today in 2019. "Getting your [testicles] cut open is like being in Mötley CrĂŒe in 1987."
