Kylie Kelce and Jason Kelce officially have a pawsome new family addition.

Nearly three weeks after teasing that a furry friend may be joining the Kelce family very soon, the Not Gonna Lie podcast host officially introduced their new addition: a German Shepherd puppy named Bernadette.

"I can't help myself,” Kylie said in the March 31 episode of her Wave Originals series, FAFO, while holding the new pup at Main Line Animal Rescue in Pennsylvania. “Someone let me loose in a rescue and this is what happened.”

Indeed, fans likely were surprised by her choice to adopt another dog, considering Kylie—who shares daughters Wyatt, 6, Bennett, 5, Elliotte, 3 and Finnley, 11 months, with Jason—had been determined to bring a cat into their family for quite some time.

Though the ladies of the Kelce household were all in favor of adding a feline to the mix—the family also includes dogs Nessie and Belaoo—Jason, 38, was adamant that he didn’t like cats, going as far as to scare his daughters by telling them they were “poisonous.”

Kylie referenced the ongoing debate with the former Philadelphia Eagles star at the start of her video, joking that Jason would likely not be pleased with whatever furry friend came home that day.

"Some of you might know that between my husband and I, we have an ongoing cat saga,” the 34-year-old explained. “Jason does know that I'm here today. We did discuss whether or not he would be peeved if I came home with an animal."

"And when I said, ‘Rate how mad on a scale of one to 10,’ he said 10," she continued. "To my credit, he did not distinguish which side of the scale was pissed. So together, we are going to find out whether or not by the end of this episode, I end up with a four-legged furry friend."

After spending the afternoon at the Chester Springs rescue meeting kittens, Great Dane puppies, barn cats and even a very vocal duckling, Kylie said she was “tipped off” about German Shepherd puppies at their Philadelphia location—and that changed everything.

In fact, she was so caught off guard by the “special” information that the mom of four ended up filming an "entirely new ending.”

“It’s actually six weeks later and something happened. Let me explain,” she said at the end of the video. “I love German Shepherds and they said, ‘We might have the thing for you!’ And it turns out they did. I’m here now to hopefully pick a puppy.”

And though her husband was against adopting animals six weeks earlier, Kylie said he had a change of heart—under one condition.

“Jason agreed to this if I gave him naming rights, so we’ll see what their name is,” she said while sitting in a pen with the puppies. “Bernadette is a frontrunner, it’s a leader. It’s a top choice.”

Bernadette is ultimately what they settled on, with Kylie confirming that the little pup was headed home to her family. Still though, the podcast host wasn’t giving up on her mission to adopt a cat.

"I met some very cute cats, but like I've said a million times at this point, we're not ready for that,” Kylie said. “When I am ready for that, I'm gonna march my ass right back to the PSPCA and I'm gonna find me a cat that wants to come home and live at the Kelce household."

"But for now,” she concluded, “may I introduce Bernadette Kelce.”

"Unbelievable honor to see it in person," he continued. "The size is incredible, looks so small when NBA players are holding it, but it’s actually massive!! The girls were very interested in it."

The family of five hit the field in August 2023, with Kylie joking in an Instagram post, "Here for the Rita’s and obstacle courses with dad after practice."

Jason and Kylie rang in Wyatt's fourth birthday in October 2023 on the Philadelphia Eagles' home turf. As Kylie noted on Instagram, "We were celebrating a 4th birthday when the Birds went 4-0."

Kylie shared this pic of Wyatt, Elliotte and Bennett on Instagram in June 2024, writing, "Parents know… 2 out of 3 isn’t bad!"

Jason's mom Donna Kelce commented, "The cutest beautiful bunch of 'lucky charms' under that rainbow!!!!"
