The Disrespectfully podcast host shared more insight into her coming out journey, explaining that it took a lot of work to get to a point where she could live her truth.
âMy journey with queerness wasn't linear,â she wrote in a June 10 Instagram Story, âand at times very scary and confusing.âÂ
Kathan previously came out as bisexual, bonding with former Vanderpump castmate Ariana Madix over their queer identities in a 2020 episode of the show.
"I just feel so much lighter now that that's out there,â she told Madix, who is bisexual, at the time. She added in her confessional, âI think that I knew in middle school that I was different. I just remember noticing both genders.â
As Kathan further explained in her Instagram Story post, âI had to unpack A LOT of s--t to get to this point. all of this to say, if you aren't out and struggling- take your time. you will get there. and it's pretty fab on the other side.â
Indeed it is fabulous, as Kathan received an outpouring of support, including encouraging comments from her former castmates Madix and Scheana Shay.
Shay kept it short and sweet, writing alongside a Pride flag emoji, âIlyyyyyyyy.â Meanwhile, Madix similarly remarked, alongside red heart emojis, âilysm!!!!!!â
And of course, Kathanâs podcast cohost Katie Maloney also shared some love under the post, saying, âMy favorite lesbian! I love you so much!!!!â
