Gal Gadot confirms that she will never play Wonder Woman again.
The 41-year-old actress appeared as the superhero, aka Diana Prince, in four films in the DC Extended Universe, beginning with 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
Gal later reprised the role in 2017’s Wonder Woman, 2017’s Justice League, and 2020’s Wonder Woman 1984. She also made uncredited cameos in Shazam! Fury of the Gods and The Flash.
Now, Gal is starring in the new streaming movie The Runner for Prime Video and while promoting the project, she was asked about her future in James Gunn‘s DC Universe.
Gal told ScreenRant that she hasn’t had “any specific conversations” with the producer or the studio about returning. The last time she chatted with the studio was for discussions about a third Wonder Woman movie, which appear to have stalled. Now, Gal is offering support for whoever they choose to play the character next.
“This is such an incredible character that so many of us care about so much, so whoever it’s going to be to portray her, I wish for her that she enjoys this amazing ride with this amazing character. And I’m just grateful that I was granted the opportunity to wear her boots and celebrate this incredible character and everything she stands for,” she said.
