Harry Styles needed a long break to get his taste back.

Three months after the Grammy winner kicked off his Together, Together tour, he shared insight into what he learned during his nearly three years away from the stage.

“In the time that I took away from touring, I watered a side of my life I hadn’t paid much attention to previously,” Styles explained in an interview with W magazine published Aug. 25. “Because I started so young, touring became so much of who I was. I would feel quite uncomfortable with stretches at home.”

Indeed, after nearly 13 years of continuously producing albums and touring, the One Direction alum—whose former bandmates included Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan and the late Liam Payne—admitted, “I didn’t know what to do with myself sometimes.”

And after figuring it out, Styles—who reportedly got engaged to Zoë Kravitz in April—emphasized he came back feeling better than ever when he dropped Kiss All The Time, Disco Occasionally in March.

“I feel really fortunate to have this incredible job and creative environment,” the 32-year-old continued, “but also this life away from it that I’m excited to spend time in. I don’t know that I had that before.”

Although the “Aperture” singer emphasized that his fans are “so emotionally generous” to him while he’s performing, his life off stage feels “less frightening” than it previously did.

“It feels quite special to be in it, bathe in it, and be aware it’s not forever,” Styles considered. “It doesn’t come with this existentialism that it used to, when I was like, ‘Who am I if I don’t do this?’ I’m a little more comfortable with who I am if I’m not doing it, which makes touring a lot more enjoyable.”

While the “As It Was” singer—who previously dated Olivia Wilde and Taylor Russell—is notoriously private, his fiancée Kravitz has shared insight into navigating a fulfilling life together while in the public eye.

“There are moments obviously when you just want to hide because it feels overwhelming,” the 37-year-old told British Vogue in an interview published in June, “and then there are moments when you, whether it’s in a defiant way, are like, ‘I’m going to walk and get my coffee and you’re not going to take that away from me.’”

Less than a year removed from respective breakups, Zoë Kravitz and Harry Styles were spied strollng arm in arm in Rome in August 2025.

The pair took their burgeoning connection to the Big Apple a week later, heading to dinner in New York on Sept. 3, 2025.

A Sept. 4 coffee run near Zoë's NYC apartment further fueled romance rumors.

Harry and Zoë met her dad, Lenny Kravitz, for lunch at Sant Ambroeus in the West Village on Sept. 6.

After departing from a Manhattan music studio on a crisp fall night in October, they strolled to Japanese restaurant Omen Azen in SoHo.

Zoë and Harry proved they were still going strong in the new year, out on a sunny New York day in March.

This time Harry brought a date to the March 15 Saturday Night Live after-party when he once again pulled double duty as host and musical guest.

And they were none the worse for wear when they went live on Sunday morning.

Back in Harry's native U.K., the couple walked to coffee April 19.
