The Last Cowboy, the Taylor Sheridan-produced reality show, has aired six seasons on Paramount-owned cable network CMT.
Each season culminates in The Run for a Million, an arena-based elite horsemanship event that has a $1M prize.
The network will air it as a one-off special event on August 22 at 8pm. The equestrian competition sees 16 riders guide horses through a precise pattern of circles, spins and stops in pursuit of reining’s highest honor – and the grand prize.
Sheridan, who exec produces the show, will call the action.
Season 6 of The Last Cowboy documented last seasons The Run For A Million in 2025. CBS will air the 2026 competition and season seven of The Last Cowboy, which is saddling up on CMT later this fall, will incorporate the competition into its series.
The competitors include Jason Vanlandingham, Andrea Fappani, Kole Price, Casey Deary, Cade McCutcheon, Gina Schumacher, Dany Tremblay, Gabriel Borges, Francesco Martinotti, Ben Beckett, Trevor Dare, Alessandro Frassa, Arno Honstetter, Mirko Miidi, Martin Muehlstaetter and Fernando Salgado.
It comes as season seven of The Last Cowboy is saddling up on CMT later this fall.
The Run For A Million is produced by Summer House producer Truly Original. Other exec producers include Glenda Hersh, Steven Weinstock, David C. Glasser, Julie “Bob” Lombardi, Andrea Richter and Apryl Richards.
