Coachella and YouTube consummate their marriage with a renewed partnership to livestream the festival and its content exclusively on YouTube through 2030.
Today, Lyor Cohen, YouTube’s Head of Music, announced that the company has renewed its livestream and content partnership with Goldenvoice, which makes YouTube the exclusive platform for streaming Coachella through 2030.
Next year in April will mark 15 years since the partnership began. What began as a single feed has evolved into a fully interactive experience for fans looking to enjoy the festival from the comfort of their own home. In 2026, viewers tuning into Coachella on YouTube set the record for the most viewers watching at one time in the history of Coachella on YouTube.
“Over the past decade and a half, the Coachella livestream on YouTube has evolved from a single feed into a full interactive experience,” Cohen writes. “It’s where millions tuned in to witness Beyoncé’s legendary ‘Homecoming’ set, where Blackpink made history becoming the first Asian artist to headline, and where Justin Bieber took fans on a nostalgic tour through his classic music videos this year.”
“Fans at home can watch multiple stages with multiview, experience a set alongside their favorite creators, catch exclusive YouTube Shorts from artists backstage, and purchase festival merchandise and more, all on YouTube.”
Cohen adds that YouTube and Goldenvoice will continue building on this experience, providing fans at home with new ways to connect with their favorite artists and discover new music at the festival.
“For artists, Coachella on YouTube offers a global stage that extends far beyond the festival grounds,” he continues. “Performers can reach billions of international viewers to kick off their next album cycle, launch their own world tour, experience a collaboration they’ve dreamed of, or introduce the new look we’ll all be rocking this summer. As we look toward 2027, YouTube will continue delivering behind-the-scenes access and exclusive content.”
Meanwhile, YouTube unveiled some new features for both viewers and creators on the platform at the company’s Made on YouTube event in New York this week. The presentation highlighted parent company Google/Alphabet’s all-in approach to incorporating AI into every facet of its platforms. Some of the new tools include custom feeds, AI-powered conversational functions, and new comment features.
