Jessica Chastain is entering the world of country music for her next movie.
The Oscar-winning actress stars in the upcoming Netflix thriller Heartland, in which she plays former country megastar Misty Jones, who comes out of seclusion to investigate the disappearance of her missing niece, a rising country musician.
Misty must grapple with her own past and Nashville’s seedy underbelly. Her search uncovers a murky side of Nashville where no one, including Misty, is who they seem.
Heartland features a star-studded cast of both actors and musicians.
Garrett Hedlund, Carter Faith, Ross Lynch, Paul Sparks, Jennifer Nettles, John Hawkes, Hill Harper, Norbert Leo Butz, Wynn Everett, Isabelle Kusman, and David Rysdahl round out the cast.
Heartland is written and directed by Shana Feste, who is also the woman behind the movie Country Strong.
Country Strong, released in 2010, followed Gwyneth Paltrow as a country music superstar preparing for a comeback tour after going through rehab.
You can watch Heartland on Netflix beginning on November 13.
Jessica will also be seen on the big screen this Halloween season in the new horror movie Other Mommy, which is set to hit theaters on October 9. Make sure to watch the trailer!
