On today’s Crew Call we speak with husband and wife voiceover performers Jeff Bergman and Carla Delaney Bergman who share with us how they broke into the craft, their successes, and how to forge a path in the industry.

Jeff Bergman’s window into voiceovers began when Looney Tunes maestro Mel Blanc visited his college, and he received some career advice. Bergman wound up becoming one of the vocal successors for Warner Bros’ Looney Tunes across several projects, a feat he didn’t realize in his younger days. But Blanc’s canon isn’t the only person he can pull off. Name an actor, and he’ll do them, for there’s no impression that’s ever lost on a voiceover performer. There’s also a great story here about how Jeff landed his first agent in New York, who promptly began booking him for work (it pays to impersonate a messenger). IMDB lists Jeff for 108 voiceover credits, in everything from Jetsons: The Movie (as George Jetson, Mr., Spacely and more), Phineas and Ferb, Family Guy, Jellystone (as Yogi Bear, Wally Gator and more) to most recently, Disney/Pixar’s Toy Story 5 which opens on Friday, June 19 in which he plays Mr. Potato Head (a role made famous by the late Don Rickles).

With his wife, Carla Delaney Bergman, they’ve worked on the New Looney Tunes and Family Guy. She cut her teeth in the Tony award winning stage musical, Forbidden Broadway, where she was on the hook for myriad classic starlets’ voices. This opened the door to voiceovers where she’s been heard on such projects as Captain Marvel, Harley Quinn, Kite Man, Hell Yeah!, Seth Rogen’s Sausage Party, The Boss Baby: Back in Business and Adventures in Odyssey as well as originating characters for best-selling video games like The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. She can also be heard playing Carol Brady in the 2015 Super Bowl Snickers commercial (scroll down).
