The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives cast shake-up may continue.
Following the news that Mikayla Matthews, Dakota Mortensen and Jordan Ngatikaura wouldn’t be returning after season six of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, Taylor Frankie Paul suggested she may be stepping away from the Hulu series.
“My gratitude goes to all the networks that supported me throughout this and gave me the chance to return,” Paul wrote in a statement shared to Instagram Sept. 21. “However I don’t desire to move forward like this. I originally was willing to be removed to let them all continue on with less stress and I’m back to that point.”
Production on the recently-released season five was paused following the surfacing of a 2023 video of her and her on-off boyfriend Mortensen—with whom she shares a 2-year-old—getting into a physical altercation. (Paul had pleaded guilty to a third-degree felony count of aggravated assault following her domestic violence arrest at the time and has since completed probation.)
Following the video’s release, Mortenson, as well as the reality star’s ex-husband Tate Paul—with whom she shares two kids—took legal action against the Hulu star, who is currently still involved in an ongoing custody battle with both of her exes.
With a forthcoming sixth season already in the works, the 32-year-old admitted her dynamic with the rest of MomTok—which includes Jessi Draper, Layla Taylor, Whitney Leavitt, Mayci Neeley, Jennifer Affleck and Miranda Hope—has left her unsure of her future in the group and on the show.
“Some of the girls know what I’ve been through and then to turn and collectively pile on with their ‘statements’ knowing there has been ongoing abuse through the system the last 8 months on top of what I’ve endured,” she continued on Instagram. “Almost the entire cast plus some, going at me….laughing about my kids is disgusting.”
In fact, Paul suggested production staff were among the few associated with the show who checked in on her during her time of need.
“I treated production and crew with respect always, in fact they are ones who checked on me throughout this,” she explained. “I agree it’s to the point of bullying for months now. What makes it harder to take in is some of these parents have made mistakes that would result in the same judgement I’m receiving yet pointing a finger.”
So, Paul emphasized, “it’s a pleasure to remove myself so they can continue, because I’ve almost convinced myself I’m deserving of all this pain and to a certain degree absolutely this is consequences of my actions.”
“My question has been how much suffering and scrutiny is going to be enough,” she added. “I’m just relieved to be out.”
E! News has reached out to a representative for Paul as well as Hulu for comment but has not yet heard back...

The Saturday Night Live stars all announced within days of each other that they would not be returning for the sketch comedy series' 51st season.
Longfellow and Walker each spent three seasons on SNL while Wakim exited after just one season.
Weeks after Longfellow, Walker and Wakim left SNL, longtime fan-favorites Gardner and Nwodim also confirmed they would not be returning for season 51 after eight and seven seasons, respectively.
Sofia Mattsson exited the long-running soap opera in summer 2025 after seven years playing Sasha Gilmore. Her character left Port Charles for Paris.

The French actress confirmed she would not return for the hit Netflix series' fifth season in April 2025.
"After an incredible journey, I’ve made the decision to step away from Emily in Paris,” she wrote in an April 23 Instagram post, alongside pictures of her and her former castmates on set. “It has been a truly wonderful experience, one filled with growth, creativity, and unforgettable memories.”
Ahead of The Sex Lives of College Girls' third season, Reneé Rapp announced she would be leaving the Max series.
"College Girls moved me out to LA and introduced me to some of my favorite people," she wrote on social media in July 2023. "2 and a half years later—it's given me y'all and this community."
The show's co-creator Mindy Kaling also confirmed Rapp's exit. "We love @reneerapp so much and of course will be so sad to say goodbye to Leighton Murray!" Kaling wrote on her Instagram Stories before referencing Rapp's thriving music career. "We can't wait to see our friend on tour!!"
More than a year after Kevin Costner was rumored to have unexpectedly walked away from the hit Paramount drama after four and a half seasons, he confirmed in June 2024 that he will not return to finish out the series' fifth and final season.
After 19 years as Meredith Grey, Ellen Pompeo scrubbed in for the last time as a series regular on the ABC drama in February 2023.
