Harry Styles has been given a gold Blue Peter badge by the long-running childrenâs show, in acknowledgement of his record-breaking Wembley Stadium run.
The âAs It Wasâ singer broke the record for the longest residency by a musician at Wembley Stadium with his 12th show on July 4, and Blue Peter presenter Shini Muthukrishnan presented him with a special gold badge to commemorate the achievement.
Blue Peter badges are given to viewers of the show, as well as guests, however a gold edition is reserved for outgoing presenters and guests who have done extraordinary things. Former recipients of the gold badge include Queen Elizabeth II, Steven Spielberg, Captain Tom Moore, and Sir Paul McCartney.
Styles will be shown receiving the badge on the Friday July 10 episode of the show, where he will also answer readers’ letters. In an official BBC press release he was quoted expressing his gratitude. âI grew up watching Blue Peter and I never thought I would get one of theseâŚThis might be my proudest achievement,â he said. âIf you are watching Blue Peter, I wish you luck in all your future endeavours, keep dreaming, and treat people with kindnessâ

Beatles legend McCartney received his badge in 2019, and reacted with similar enthusiasm. âThat is beautiful, thatâs a great badge. I will wear it with great pride,â he said, before adding: âYes! I made it!â
The record-breaking 12th Wembley date of the ‘Together Together’ tour featured a Pride celebration, where Styles performed alongside a group of drag queens and kings. There was also an appearance from his sister, Gemma, who gave an emotional message of congratulations on the feat.
The July 1 show coincided with the England menâs team playing DR Congo in the FIFA World Cup, and Styles was captures reacting joyfully to Harry Kaneâs winning goal.
