EXCLUSIVE: Independent Artist Group has signed actor and comedian Cedric the Entertainer for representation across the board. IAG will also represent A Bird And A Bear Entertainment, Cedric’s production company with Eric Rhone, which has a first-look deal at CBS.

One of the Original Kings of Comedy, along with Steve Harvey, D.L. Hughley, and Bernie Mac, Cedric the Entertainer’s career spans three decades. Currently starring as Seth Holly in the hit Broadway revival of August Wilson’s Joe Turner’s Come and Gone, he can also be heard voicing a role opposite Michael B. Jordan and Juno Temple in Netflix’s Swapped, which broke their single-week viewership record for an animated movie with 38.7 million views.

Recently, Cedric also starred in and executive produced The Neighborhood, for which he won two NAACP Image Awards for Outstanding Actor in a Comedy Series from six nominations. The series was CBS’s longest-running hit comedy on air when it concluded its eight-season run in May.

Other notable film and TV credits include the Barbershop and Madagascar franchises, Johnson Family Vacation, Top Five, Paul Schrader’s Oscar-nominated First Reformed, The Original Kings of Comedy, The Soul Man, which he co-created and executive produced, The Steve Harvey Show, and Disney Channel’s animated series The Proud Family.

Also an author, Cedric’s first novel, Flipping Boxcars, released with HarperCollins/Amistad in 2023.

“We are thrilled to welcome Cedric to Independent Artist Group,” said IAG CEO Jim Osborne. “He is a generational talent whose impact on comedy, television, film, and live entertainment is truly remarkable. Cedric has continually evolved as a performer, producer, and entrepreneur, and we look forward to working with him to expand the next chapter of his remarkable career.”

Cedric continues to be represented by Eric Rhone at Visions Management Group and Gordon Bobb at Del Shaw Moonves.
