When it comes to where exes Eva Longoria and Tony Parker stand, fans might expect there to be more drama than there was on Wisteria Lane. But the Desperate Housewives star recently proved she’s on good terms with the former basketball player, posting a photo June 8 that appeared to show the French athlete filming his ex-wife's series Eva Longoria: Searching for France."Look who came to visit…." she wrote alongside the Instagram post, "the one and only TP.”It was almost two decades ago that Longoria and Parker were searching for a way out of the media storm surrounding their divorce.Following her divorce from first husband Tyler Christopher, the actress and her father were invited back to meet the San Antonio Spurs guard and his teammates after a 2004 game. And while Desperate Housewives was super popular at the time, Parker wasn't familiar because, as Longoria put it to Oprah Winfrey, "he was the last person on earth” to watch the show.

Though it's safe to say he was well-versed by the time they tied the knot in France in July 2007, right after the Spurs swept the NBA Finals.

"It’s been a great year," Parker told CBS News ahead of the nuptials. "I’m really going to enjoy it, and I can’t wait."Even when there were rumors that the athlete had been unfaithful during their marriage, they remained a united team."I don't let those magazines and articles define who I am," Longoria told Allure in 2009. "I know I'm not pregnant; I know Tony and I aren't breaking up. I know we're not cheating."

There also weren’t any signs the pair would pivot when they appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show months after celebrating their third wedding anniversary."It’s like the golden anniversary in Hollywood," Longoria said on the October 2010 episode, noting they were on track to beat the average length of celebrity marriages. "We’re halfway there."But the following month, despite noting they "love each other deeply and pray for each other's happiness," Longoria filed for divorce from Parker and requested to drop his last name.

While she cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for their split, there were reports that he had been messaging another woman. His camp denied the affair rumors. And after their divorce was finalized in January 2011, the NBA alum spoke about how he was trying to move forward.

"[Divorce] was hard but life goes on," Parker told radio station Europe 1 that February, per People. "Like anyone else, I’ve learned that life is full of experiences, and you learn from your mistakes. And go on."The 44-year-old added, "No one’s perfect. It’s never easy."

As for Longoria, she expressed how she lost a part of herself after the split."It was heartbreaking," she told Piers Morgan on CNN in April 2011. "I think it was disappointing because I had such an identity in being Mrs. Parker and being a wife. So when that’s taken away from you. You go, 'Who am I?' And that was hard."Still, the Flamin' Hot director said she "would never speak ill" of Parker or their time together. And while some may have cast doubt on their Hollywood romance, Longoria noted that trust was important for any couple regardless of their industry."People go, 'Oh, he’s an athlete, you’re an actress,'" she continued. "If you’re a dentist and a lawyer, if you’re a secretary and a teacher, you need trust in any relationship much less a marriage. I love the concept of marriage, and I love being a wife, and I was very devoted and dedicated. Everybody who knows me—my friends—they know we tried our hardest. We really, really tried, and it just didn’t work. We wanted different things."And when it comes to Parker, "He's not a bad person," Longoria added. "He just wanted something else, and I don’t hate him for it."However, she refused to go into detail about what led to the end of their union."I would never speak publicly about what happened or why we got divorced because I love him," the 51-year-old said. "We still talk. We still are in each other’s lives."

But that communication didn’t last long. When Longoria returned to The Ellen DeGeneres Show in September 2011 and was asked if she and Parker were still in contact, she simply replied, "No." Although, she expanded upon the lessons she learned from their divorce."For me, being a woman, I realized you cannot identify yourself through a man or through your marriage," Longoria shared. And while women are "socially constructed that way to just be inferior or subservient," she continued, "you don’t have to be. You can be yourself and really hold your own by yourself no matter what partnership they’re in."And ultimately, Longoria formed a new relationship—a stronger one with herself."With my ex-husband Tony, I was with him eight years, which is how long I’ve been on the show, which is how long I’ve had my success, which is how long I built my wealth,” she said on The Conversation with Amanda de Cadenet in 2012. "It signified so much this life with him. So, when we got divorced, I felt like I got stripped of my identity, and who I was and, 'OK, what does this mean for me? And how am I going to do this?' And I had to really realize that they weren’t tied together."

Parker went on to tie the knot with Axelle Francine in 2014 months after welcoming their first son Josh, now 12. But four years after they added to their family with son Liam, 9, they announced their split 2020. As for Longoria, she exchanged vows in 2016 with José “Pepe” Bastón, the couple now parents to 7-year-old son Santiago."Pepe and I are soulmates," Longoria told Ocean Drive magazine in 2016, per Entertainment Tonight. "I don't even know how to explain it, because it's like we're two different sides of the same coin. He's compassionate, kind, handsome—he's everything I wanted and didn't even know I wanted."
