EXCLUSIVE: Blue Fox Entertainment has acquired worldwide rights to the YA romantic comedy Buster Brooks, written and directed by Savannah Ostler (Even in Dreams). The company will launch worldwide sales at this week’s TIFF market.
Matt Cornett (Every Year After) stars as Buster Brooks, “who moves from his small farm town to Hollywood to try to make it in the movies. He finds more than he expected, including a new crush in the smart and driven Lucy, who helps him navigate the unpredictable realities of Hollywood. As Buster gets closer to his dream, he faces a difficult choice: pursue the life and girl he’s always imagined, or return to the family who needs him.”
The film also stars Vanessa Angel (Weird Science) as Buster’s mother, Emmy-nominee Corin Nemec (I Know My First Name Is Steven) as his father, Glenn Morshower (24) as Uncle Ned, and Melissa Collazo (Stranger Things) as Lucy, alongside Alison Arngrim (Little House on the Prairie), Charlotte Hemmings (Faith of Angels), Artemis Pebdani (Scandal) and Edgar the Rooster as Buster’s feathered sidekick, rounding out the key cast.
Pic was produced by Tony Toscano, McCord Larsen, Steven D’Alo and Savannah Ostler for Iris Entertainment, S&S Productions, and Olympus Media International, with Carolyn Koskan and Tony Toscano serving as executive producers. Wes Johnson serves as cinematographer, with casting by Lisa London and Catherine Stroud. The film is edited by Steven D’Alo and Brandon Ho.
