Kelly Clarkson is breaking away from expectations about her love life.

The “Breakaway” singer shared insight into the relatable reason why she’s satisfied with being single at this point in her life.

“People are like, ‘Oh, why are you single?’ And I'm like, ‘First of all, there are a lot of people out here making single look real good,’” Clarkson said during her Las Vegas residency at Caesar's Palace July 24, according to footage shot by @jpasc24. “And if you didn't really understand what I meant by that, it's like you see relationships and you're like, ‘I am so glad I'm going home alone.’”

Indeed, there’s nothing but peace behind her hazel eyes.

“You know what’s not happening in my house?” she continued. “That s--t.”

And as Clarkson—mom to River, 12, and Remington, 10, with late ex-husband Brandon Blackstock—takes time to catch her breath outside of the dating pool, she reflected on the most difficult aspect of maintaining the spark in her romantic connections.

“If you are in a relationship, the hardest part is just keeping that fire alive and still dating,” she added, “and like still making it feel magical and not monotonous.”

The 44-year-old’s rare remarks about her dating life come nearly one year after Blackstock—who she wed in 2013 before the pair finalized their divorce in 2022—died in August 2025 following a yearslong battle with cancer. He was 48.

Though the “Stronger” singer is known to be extremely private about her personal life, she previously shared an update on her family months after his tragic passing.

“My kids, they're 9 and 11," she said during a Q&A on the Kelly Clarkson Show YouTube channel uploaded Jan. 10. "They’re that special little fun stage where they can wipe their own behinds, but they're still small enough to, like, love cuddling and love snuggles."

She continued, "There's been a lot for our family recently, and so I have allowed my kids to sleep with me quite a bit.”

And even though Clarkson’s bedroom has gotten crowded with her little ones, she wouldn't have it any other way.

"It's my two dogs, my two kids and me," she added. "It's a lot. It's been really special, though, because the conversations you have during that time are pretty cute. So that's probably my favorite time of day."
