Man, Shania Twain wishes she could have attended Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce‘s wedding at Madison Square Garden last month. Twain told CTV’s Etalk that she was indeed invited to the nuptials of the decade, but was unable to attend because she was already booked to open for Swift’s ex, Harry Styles, during his history-making run of his Together, Together tour at London’s Wembley Stadium.
“Taylor Swift invited me to her wedding,” Twain, 60, said of her friend of more than 15 years. “I couldn’t go because I was already committed to Harry’s shows. So that’s why I say that, it’s just kind of funny that that happened that way,” as the host noted that Swift and Styles used to date. The pop stars were briefly linked for a few months between late 2012 and early 2013 and were referred to by fans with the portmanteau “Haylor.”
For the record, while Twain jokingly blamed Styles for her missing out on the headline-grabbing event, she said she would have “done anything to be at Taylor’s wedding … that would have been really lovely for me to be there. But I was with Harry, so that’s why I’m saying if Harry ever gets married and he wants me at his wedding he’s going to have to ask me more in advance.”
Twain also noted that, if she was available, she would totally sing at his wedding, should Styles ever get married.
Swift and Kelce were married at Madison Square Garden on July 3 in front of hundreds of friends and family in a reportedly lavish affair that included such A-list guests as Sabrina Carpenter, Ed Sheeran, Camila Cabello, Karlie Kloss, Selena Gomez, Maren Morris, Greta Gerwig, Kesha and Benson Boone, with the ceremony officiated by comedian Adam Sandler.
Styles set a Guinness World Records milestone during his historic 12-night Wembley Stadium residency, which included opening sets from Twain each night, including on July 3. His dozen shows set the record for the longest residency by a musician at Wembley during a single run, besting previous record-holders Coldplay (10 nights in 2025) and Swift (eight nights in 2024).
Swift and Twain have had a mutual admiration society for years, with Swift hailing Twain as one of the “queens of my heart” — along with Dolly Parton — in 2021 after Shania participated in a “Mama Said” TikTok challenge and expressed her appreciation for her country-pop crossover heir. Then, in 2024, Twain praised Swift for “working her butt off,” hailing Taylor for her boundless ambition and drive.
